Paolo Mazzanti | Contemporary Photography and Visual Research

Photography as an Experience of Time

Paolo Mazzanti’s work originates from the observation of matter and its progressive transformation. Objects and fragments are removed from their context until they lose function and identity, becoming autonomous images. Discover the series, exhibitions and publications.

In this work, photography does not describe: it isolates, subtracts, transforms. The image emerges at the point where reality no longer coincides with what it was.

The research develops through themes of matter, loss and presence, in a continuous dialogue between vision and interpretation. To learn more about the technical, cultural and collecting context of contemporary photographic practice, see the guide to Fine Art Photography .
