The contemporary artworks of Paolo Mazzanti emerge from an artistic practice developed over more than four decades, in which photography becomes a means of interpreting reality and shaping a personal visual imagination.
Through the transformation of forms, relationships between space and time, and an ongoing dialogue between nature, human presence and architecture, the works move beyond straightforward representation to acquire an expressive autonomy of their own.
Organized into series, they form a unified artistic journey in which each image retains its individual identity while contributing to a broader vision.
The Artwork Beyond the Image
The subject of a photograph is not necessarily the subject of the artwork. What is visible becomes a point of departure for an encounter with forms, presences and relationships that do not offer a single interpretation. The work invites viewers to bring their own perception and experience to what they see.
Artworks and Photographic Series
Each series develops a distinct line of inquiry. Within it, individual artworks are not merely parts of a sequence: each has its own identity, while its relationship with the others opens further possibilities of interpretation. The series offer a way to explore the continuity and evolution of Mazzanti’s artistic research.
The Material Presence of the Artwork
The passage from photographic image to physical artwork is part of its encounter with the viewer. Scale, surface and the way the work occupies space contribute to its presence. The works are presented as limited-edition Fine Art prints; information on editions, formats and authentication can be requested for individual artworks.
Collecting the Artworks
Choosing an artwork also means establishing a relationship with the vision from which it emerged. Collectors, curators and institutions can explore the series, examine individual works and request further information about availability and editions.
