Atlanta U.S.A. – The “Fay Gold Gallery” is pleased to present an exhibition of large-format color photographs by the Italian artist Paolo Mazzanti. The exhibition entitled “Sense of Approach” is dedicated to the theme of phenomena and perceptions of landscapes that are traditionally ignored, repressed, or classified. The photographs exemplify a critical interpretation of the visual within the landscape.
The works will be on display from June 23 to July 22. The opening will take place on Friday, June 23, from 6 PM to 9 PM.
The synchronic and heterogeneous character of the contemporary landscape is juxtaposed with the image, and human intervention is expressed in a form open to multiple readings. From an introspective perspective, Mazzanti conveys a symbolic character of the landscape, the omnipresent phenomena of the earth, the fascinating effects of light, temperature and climate manipulations, combined with imperceptible, mostly hidden signs of environmental regeneration, placing himself a step ahead of traditional interpretations.
“I focus on the fundamental physical states of the landscape combined with my personal interventions in these environments; the night landscapes, the seasons, and the surfaces,” says Mazzanti.
He was born and lives in Pesaro, Italy. Mazzanti is an architect and photographer whose research and graphic projects are realized in contemporary photography, its transformations, and its relationships with the landscape. He has previously worked as a commercial photo editor for professional publications; Mazzanti studied architecture, design, and theory at the University of Florence in Italy. He has held numerous exhibitions in London, Italy, and China.
